Construction including the verification of water service line material and replacement of all lead service lines included in the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority’s water distribution system in the City of Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.
Construction of upgrades and improvements part of the lead service line replacement program totaling $17,229,980 were financed by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program (NJEIFP). The NJEIFP is a State Revolving Fund program jointly administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (Trust) and uses a combination of funds provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the DEP, and the Trust to provide very low interest loans to borrowers for environmental infrastructure projects.
This project will provide water quality benefits in form of reduced lead exposure for residents and businesses in Jersey City.
